Acquiring land is one of Crayfern Homes fundamental strengths. The larger proportion of land acquired by the company is by way of private treaty and falls mainly into two categories:

  1. Immediate Land with the benefit of planning permission.

  2. Forward Land with the potential to secure a planning consent given an acceptable development proposal.

Crayfern Homes can draw from its past experience in land buying to negotiate with planning authorities and create successful development proposals. This is often essential when wishing to achieve the best outcome for land owners, maximising the land value at the same time.

Crayfern Homes are committed to both sympathetic and sustainable developments of which the vast majority are on previously developed sites, namely brownfield land; this type of re-development is also in keeping with Government aspirations. Crayfern Homes will, however, look at all opportunities whether it be either a green or brownfield site, and will take into account the potential merit, for both immediate or future potential.

The company structure of Crayfern Homes allows for decisions on acquiring sites to be made quickly, often without the need of making meetings scheduled some weeks in advance or the necessity of receiving approval from head offices or a PLC Board of Directors, as is often the case with some of our competition.
